Journeys Within Our Community (JWOC) and Journeys Within Tour Company are seeking a full time Fundraising, Communications and Donor relations manager.

Registered as a non-profit in 2006 by the Journeys Within tour company, JWOC is a $200,000 per year US registered nonprofit organization based in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Its mission is to run projects that reduce poverty levels, increase educational and economic opportunities and empower recipients and supporters, inspiring ongoing social change. With a focus on education JWOC looks to take opportunity and education out into the village as well as offer a comprehensive class list at its facility in Siem Reap, Cambodia. JWOC is unique in its approach to providing these programs as its university scholarship students are engaged in program implementation on a volunteer basis. Many of the JWOC donors are Journeys Within tour company guests visiting Siem Reap as tourists. These donors are part of our mission as we look to inspire ongoing giving and community involvement. The Journeys Within Active Philanthropy program allows guests to donate to projects and then see the tangible impact of their donation.

Job Description:

The Fundraising, Communications and Donor Relations Manager reports directly to the Managing Director of JWOC and works closely with the Journeys Within Tour Company Operations Manager and Journeys Within Tour Company CEO, and has overall responsibility to ensure the annual fundraising goal is met through:

-Engaging new and existing donors such as JWOC visitors (e.g. from Journeys Within Tour Company guests) and JWOC volunteers, trusts, foundations, company and government aid prospects to meet financial goals; and

-Developing and executing a comprehensive donor communication strategy, including the use and growth of digital and social media channels.

Detailed Responsibilities:

Developing a thorough understanding of JWOC programs through coordination with JWOC Program Managers and the Managing Director;

Managing new relationships with donors and maintaining existing relationships, including volunteer and guest visits;

Managing donor database, gift processing and acknowledgment, and generating donor reports in Giftworks;

Developing detailed fundraising strategy to meet financial goals, including donor communication analysis and planning;

Researching and identifying new grant and/or larger funding proposals, following applications and reporting through full life cycles;

Contributing to the on-going development of our website, including uploading reports and creating news updates;

Managing social media and JWOC's photo database and producing video publicity

Participating in drafting and finalizing program and Annual reports, newsletters, press releases, etc.

· Accompanying guests and donors on project visits

· Working to make sure project visit descriptions and guest experiences are as advertised

· Follow up and continued focus on donor and visitor experience, always looking to inspire

Qualifications:

Mandatory

Bachelor’s degree (relevant field preferred);

Strong customer service focus and attitude;

Individual donor cultivation, soliciting funds and stewardship experience;

Web-based communications experience with knowledge of Wordpress, social media channels and networks such as Facebook, RSS and Twitter;

Native level English oral and written communication skills;

Demonstrated analytical skills;

Concern for detail and accuracy, with a professional and efficient approach;

Strong interpersonal and team building experience in a multi-cultural setting; and

Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred

Sales and/or other customer relations, guest experience management;

Experience with GiftWorks and donor management software (e.g. Constant Contact);

Institutional grant/proposal writing;

Knowledge of non-profit and fundraising best practices;

A working knowledge of image editing software (Photoshop or In Design); and

Photography, video experience.

Terms and conditions:

JWOC provides a local experience for international staff, and pays a salary consistent to local living costs. The incumbent is responsible for all costs associated with traveling to Siem Reap. The selected candidate will undergo a police background and reference check before being offered a contract. The contract period is 15 months with an option to extend for a longer term..
